FORMERLY KEHUNA ACADEMY

About Mishmeret

A daily watch of the priesthood, for the Kohanim of today.

Rabbi Amichai Cohen

I am a Kohen from the lineage of Cohen-Skali, from the priestly town of Dibdu, Morocco, and before that from Cordova in Spain. We are descendants of Tzadok HaKohen, the Kohen Gadol in the days of King David and King Solomon. This lineage has always pushed me to ask what it actually means to carry the crown of Kehuna: to serve with love, humility, and light.

I was born in Jerusalem and live today in Tzfat with my wife Miriam and our family. I founded Live Kabbalah, an online and in-person school that brings the wisdom of Kabbalah and Chassidus into practical, embodied spiritual growth. Teaching and learning Torah is not only my passion. It is my inheritance as a Kohen.

For years I taught the Rambam's Laws of the Temple under the name Kehuna Academy. What I learned is that a Kohen does not need more information first. He needs a daily way to keep what he was given. That is Mishmeret: two minutes in the morning and two at sunset, a Beit Midrash for the laws and the inner meaning of the Kehuna, and mishmarot of Kohanim around the world who keep it together.

I love to bless people, to share Torah, and to help others remember the light that is already within them. That is the work of the Kehuna: to be a channel of blessing, compassion, and peace.

Mi L'Hashem eilai. Let us keep it together.
